Advaned Powertrain Technologies
Designed entirely in-house, the Jaguar 5.0 liter V8 engine is a showcase of advanced technologies. Spray-guided direct fuel injection, Variable Camshaft Timing, and optimized intake and exhaust tracts all help maximize power and efficiency. The XKR and XKR-S V8s receive forced-air induction courtesy of a sixth-generation Eaton supercharger. While the XKR engine’s 510 horsepower is very impressive, the XKR-S pumps out 550 horsepower – true supercar territory.
Active Differential
Designed to keep the car as stable as possible and to provide superior traction over asphalt and loose surfaces, the electronic Active Differential4 – standard on the XKR and XKR-S – detects slippage and varies the power supplied to each rear wheel.
Refined Performance
Thrill to the smooth delivery of power from a choice of three formidable 5.0 liter Jaguar engines: The highly acclaimed 385 hp V8, the V8 Supercharged delivering 510 hp, and in the XKR-S a V8 Supercharged producing an astounding 550 hp.
Jaguar Sequential Shift™
The six-speed fully adaptive shift system in the XK delivers lightning-quick gear changes, and is optimized for performance and economy. For a heightened driving experience and increased involvement, gears can also be selected manually using the paddles, which are conveniently mounted behind the steering wheel.

Intelligent Headlights
The Adaptive Front Lighting System features dynamic headlights that pivot in response to your speed and steering input. They can deflect headlight beams by up to 15 degrees to throw light deeper into corners as you turn.

Powerfold door mirrors fold to help you when parking or driving through narrow spaces. These convenient mirrors also feature auto-dimming to reduce glare at night, and heating to improve visibility in adverse weather conditions.
Reverse Parking Camera
Discreetly hidden in the trunk-lid finisher, the standard Reverse Parking Camera shows the area behind the car on the Touch-screen when Reverse is selected. Combined with the Rear Parking Aid, it offers even greater reassurance during low-speed reversing maneuvers.

Adaptive Restraint Technology System (ARTS™)
The Jaguar Adaptive Restraint Technology System (ARTS™) features intelligent sensors that are designed to assess the severity of an impact. These sensors calculate driver and passenger weight, seat position and seatbelt status in order to deploy the dual stage airbags in the most effective manner.
Light But Rigid Aluminum
Core to the outstanding performance and agility of the XK is its all-aluminum body. Formed in this lightweight metal using engineering techniques developed in the aerospace industry, the aluminum body’s exceptional rigidity delivers precise, agile handling and pin-sharp cornering.
Performance Brakes
Four-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system) is supplemented by Emergency Brake Assist, designed to automatically activate the ABS if the system senses a sharp application of the brakes. In many cases, this can stop the car more rapidly, and with more steering control, than if the driver were acting alone.
